Underwater Photography Course - Testimonial Fred Panza

What a great experience this underwater photography course was !! From the detailed and quick answers to our multiple questions to plan the trip, to the course itself or to the private diveguide for my wife while I was in the "classroom", everything went better than we dreamed of.

Jeff has a unique talent to adapt his course to the student. By quickly looking to your previous pictures, he is able to see what you need to work on and he immediately gives you a few practical tricks and tips to improve your pictures. There is a very good balance between the theory and the practice during the course. Jeff makes sure that you end up with all the infos you need before you go practice your photography skills underwater with him.

All of this takes place in a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. You can really share your ideas or opinions with him as he is very open to suggestions as well. His wife Dawn also made sure that I was comfortable for the whole time, offering drinks and food when my brain needed a break.

I could rave for hours about that course with Jeff, but the bottom point is that I feel like I am a much better photographer after the course. I have a better understanding of my camera and strobe settings. During the dive we shared, we tested and established a chart about exposure and strobe power. And the magic worked !! The next day, when I tried using the chart by myself, I was surprised to see that my pictures were correctly exposed and lit on the first shot. Seeing that the images on the lcd-screen actually looked exactly like I wanted them to was a great feeling. I could feel my self-confidence grow stronger. That also allowed me to focus more on composition and be more creative.

I only have one regret : I took the course just after a liveaboard in Komodo and I wish I could have planned it before the trip and not after. The many things that I learned would have been so helpful during that week.

Thanks Jeff and Dawn for that friendly time spent together. Keep sharing and spreading your passion about Tulamben and underwater photography !!
