Hilary & Sam Van Eldik - Australia

We had the great pleasure of diving in Komodo with Jeff and Dawn Mullins in June 2011. This was really a trip for my husband, a Canon 7D enthusiast with a lot to learn. I was prepared to be patient while I enjoyed the fabulous diving I’d heard so much about.
Little did I know that I too would end up taking rather fabulous photos, if I say so myself! I “got Jeffed” on the first day and my excitement grew as I saw the beautiful images emerging from my “borrowed” Canon A75, courtesy of the lovely Maryann Evetts who we met on the trip.
I can’t speak highly enough about Jeff and Dawn and the amazing experience they provided for all of us. The organisation of our flights and accommodation, to their brilliant local knowledge of the area ensured a safe, informative and extraordinary experience. Sam says “It would have taken me 10 years to learn by myself what I learnt from Jeff in one week!”
Komodo will throw everything at you. Be prepared for fast boiling currents, thrilling speed drifts, the most exotic underwater landscapes, gliding with Manta Rays, abundant marine life and at times, a stillness so surreal it needs a sound-track! Komodo took my breath away, made me a better diver and unexpectedly, lit the spark that is fast growing into a desire to take underwater photography.
Jeff will patiently explain everything you need to know.... for a complete novice like me, to the most experienced photographer. Dawn will give you confidence in the water, she is like the “sheep dog of the sea”..... always there, knows where everyone is and somehow still manages to see everything on the dive! An amazing lady.
